If you are a business owner, how you use email in your business
can easily determine your success ratio when it comes to subscri-
bers and the sales levels you maintain.
Email is NEVER a time waster, yet you can lose a ton of time if you
fail to use it properly.
Organize Those Many Email Accounts
Many email users like a different email account for each of the most
important business organizations they belong to.
Coming off a domain or even Gmail can mean a ton of spam comes
with the privilege. By familiarizing yourself with domain filters you
can be on the way to a great start to understanding the best way to
work with email.
Break that addiction, and download your mail to one central spot
like either Thunderbird or Outlook.
Then put those filters to work for sorting your important emails to
their specified folders.
Time Saver Tip #1
Download your mail first thing. However, do not leave either Outlook
or ThunderBird running all day. Shut them off! Stop the distraction
to keep checking that incoming mail.
Organize the time frames for expected important mail. Then chunk
your time online to a specific time to deal with them.
Time Saver Tip #2
Have you heard of Google Apps for Work? It’s now called g suite. If
not then now is a great time to check out how it can help you.
Whether you are an owner or an affiliate, your time is money. Wasting
it dealing with tons of email accounts without some sort of organization
is not a good way to accomplish other business tasks.
Google Apps is not free but if $5 a month will turn your email work
around so you benefit from the extra time and not missing those
important emails hiding in the mass of spam, then you certainly will
be making a worthwhile investment.
What Email To Save
Not all email messages are worth retaining. Along with all the spam, other.
unsolicited eMail, the following should probably be
deleted as well …
- Non-work related messages- any relating to private communications.
Social invites lunch dates or leaving events.
How about messages received from discussion lists?
Any other unsolicited promotional materials.

If you have different department heads who look after extraneous
emails, perhaps some of them should be forwarded to personnel
e-mail accounts if required.
Calculating Customer ROI
You need to know what an email subscriber is worth to you. Customer
lifetime Value or CLV concept can be used except where lifetime Value
or CLV concept is, used you will take the lifetime of the email subscription
and the impact that the email program has taken during that time.
Thus the total additional profits that an email subcription represents.
In a later post we can examine a way to calculate the lifetime value
of your email subscribes. First you need to run a couple of good
email campagns to begin to gather …
- The profits generated by email marketing
The number of active subscribers
The average lifetime of your subscribers.
These figures are normally generated over a 12 month period so get
ready to determine each of these parts with some good recording of
email campaigns you will now run with a purpose.
