A difficult part of the online business world is understanding the roles
of owner vs affiliate. That difference creates a ton of panic in a
time of change.
Subtle differences make for a ton of unrecognized change. So subtle,
that when feet and noses run, they are very different things best
looked into.
Business has been there, done this form of change forward, and have
had to look at acceptable ways to deal commercial in accordance with
the laws of the time.
Two issues in that paragraph. 1. Who gave owners the right to make
changes to what a TE is without considering there would be problems?
It was 1996 before traffic exchanges began to charge for traffic and
around this time the concept changed from a tool for locating
interesting sites to a commercial one. This change in direction resulted
in increased popularity at the expense of the content which is now
almost exclusively commerce.
2. Most of the concerns are coming from people who live in countries
where payment processors must meet THEIR laws not processor laws
of use. In the greater grasp of country politics, only certain processors
are permitted.
The rest are affiliates who have their issues with the fact that
processors are NOT banks nor do they operate under banking laws.
You cannot transfer income directly between banks.
CFPB Finalizes Strong Federal Protections for Prepaid Account Consumers
The CFBP – Consumer Finance Protection Bureau – has had the job of
bringing NEW rules about prepaid cards, as announced early
Wednesday, into the light of day. These NEW rules are offering
protections that in many ways are stronger than those for traditional
bank accounts.
This is one of perhaps many ways TE owners can meet the need of their
membership. Prepaid credit cards. Did you know the laws passed
Wednesday that prepaid cards have more protection than credit cards?
Before this matter is satisfactorily resolved, IMHO… there will need to
be more than one choice for members to use. EACH one depending
solely on the safety by law, not by personal belief, offered for member
consideration.
Try a little cognitive business thinking
The time for panic is over. So is following he who speaks loudest. The
old saying that goes: ‘If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes a truth.’
means you need to heed the red flags that hit your stomach as possible
warnings.

Hello Fran,
Knowing the background of our industry is very important.
Knowing the difference between what an Owner and what an Affiliate is can help people tremendously.
Thank you for your post.
YW John.
One of the more exasperating things I have come to recognize is owners who
surely need to know that difference as well. I cannot imagine any business
surviving long if that difference is not known and properly addressed.
