How responsive are new leads to your emails?

Email balancing actSome years ago, amongst my first training, was to make sure
all emails placed the important parts above the fold.

It is how people read that decides their response to your
mails.  I immediately recognized that is exactly how a
newspaper is set up. Look at their readability.

Currently, we are taught prospects read the title and the
first sentence.  This is the exact formula to get your email
opened.  Which is the job of the subject line you choose to
send.

When it works, your mail gets opened, then the next thing
the prospect does is zoom on down to
see your signature file
and and P.S.

Now we have two sets of rules to make emails get opened and
hopefully, provide you with hungry signups.  Maybe even an
upgraded hot referral.

Let’s take a look at the art of email evolution.

Traditional Approach:

  • Information-Heavy: Emails emphasized detailed
descriptions of company offerings and features, often over-
    whelming readers with excessive data.
  • Formal Tone: The language leaned toward stiff pro-
fessionalism, which could sometimes alienate prospects
    looking for relatability or warmth.
  • Lengthy: Mimicking exhaustive sales letters, these emails
were dense, with multiple repetitive paragraphs.
  • Company-Centric:  The focus was inward, prioritizing
the company’s narrative over the recipient’s needs or interests.

Modern Recommendations:

  • Customer-Centric: Prioritize the prospect’s needs by
addressing their challenges and presenting solutions effectively.
  • Value-Oriented: Shift the focus to outcomes and benefits,
demonstrating the tangible impact of your offerings.
  • Brevity is Key: Keep your emails concise and focused,
ensuring the key message and call-to-action stand out.
  • Personalization: Leverage data-driven insights to craft messages
tailored specifically to your recipient’s situation.

In today’s world, crafting the perfect email is no longer about broad-
casting information—it’s about building connections. By embracing
modern approaches, we can create emails that resonate, engage, and
ultimately drive meaningful outcomes. The key is to always keep the
audience at the heart of your messageFrans writing icon with signature for blog posts
