The partners I am talking about, are other Traffic Exchange owners who exchange memberships and take up space.
noun:
a person who shares or is associated with another in some action or endeavor; sharer; associate.
a player on the same side or team as another:
Is the role of partner limited to adding one another to your data base?
The keyword in the definition appears to be ‘action.’
I watch the repercussions from poor support responses as members
ask who the owner is?? What is going on here? Poor branding or just
poor dogged laziness to keep your members informed as to the very
basic, who the heck you are?
Joint Surfs Between Opposing Traffic Exchanges
What a great way to get known. Surf the partner Traffic Exchange.
Oh, my heavens, what a thought huh?
Nonsense Time for Silly Excuses
This one takes the cake! ‘Oh my members would never go for that. I am
the owner, I should not participate in the surfing. I would be using up
their credits and winning their prizes.’
Really?
– So it is not important they see you as an active owner?
– Can’t you just surf to make the promo code?
-You will always win. You are so special the luck would just make you
an obvious winner every time?
What happens if …
They see you surfing so they get right into it and surf too?
What if they are encouraged to see you working to make the surf a
success?
What if you and other owners who also participate in the join surfs,
come up with a new entry such as “And the owner surf winner is …”?
The ‘loser owner’ has to give a prize of say 25 credits to each of the
members who surfed and claimed both the promo codes and the joint
surf claims?
What if you become an ACTION partner and what if that ACTION
turns your promos into highly competitive Traffic Exchanges to
belong to?
I do see some owners out there that do surf in their promos. I also
hear a lot of ‘bitching’ about it.
The result of narrow thinking? If you have so much time to be in the
chats complaining, why not turn that time into a positive GROWTH
ACTION and become a participating surf owner?
Put a little fun back into your Traffic Exchange. Get your members
actively cheering for you.
Beats the heck out of “who did you say owned that Traffic Exchange?
Never heard of them.”

Hey Fran
Interesting post. I have no idea why anyone would bitch about a TE owner being an active surfer. Don’t they have a right to use the exchanges just like any other business?
Back in the day I think one thing that helped in the growth of my biz was the fact I remained an active surfer (aka Splasher! lol) even when Traffic-Splash was the largest most active pure manual TE around. I wasn’t aware of any bitching, and a decent proportion of the most active members at Splash back then were owners of smaller exchanges.
I still surf almost every day even now, though not in any huge volume admittedly. I think it’s also important for an owner/admin to surf their own exchange regularly to see what their members are advertising, keep their finger on the pulse plus of course experience their own service.
But anyway LOL bigger picture – if there’s a takeaway for owners from this post this is what I’d choose to focus on…
“Put a little fun back into your Traffic Exchange. Get your members actively cheering for you.”
I’d say – just be yourself and be honest with your members, that wins raving fans, and that grows businesses. That applies to members as well as owners – there is no great divide here!
Thank you for your feedback, Paul. i agree that owners are members too and surfing their own sites
means clean sites, not the 790 malware finds that consistently show up on my cleanings when I surf.
Great post Fran! I love surfing other owners promos when I get a chance (which has been less lately with our move and school holidays here). I usually grab the bonus credits from the surfers rewards and that helps me in my advertising. If I win, that’s great! My commissions get plowed back into my site anyway, so big win for my members or they go to upgrading at other owners sites – win for both my site and the other owner. I surf my own site regularly too, usually when I have the big paid promos – since I enjoy surfing I buy promos that I enjoy.
Thank you Leone, for your comment. Clean sites mean happy members willing to surf and come on back for more.
What a great way to create a win-win for everyone! Merry Christmas!
